Being Automation Engineer with experience of more than 15 years in Industrial Automation out of which 4 years is in Projects. Can any body tell me the scope of Project Management Professional (PMP)certification?.Is it for software field only? Want to know where can I get detail information (In India ) ?
You do not have to be in the software industry to get PMP certified. You simply have to go online, register, answer some questions about your experience and site for an exam.
See the link below for PMI membership and listings for PMI chapters in India (local chapters offer review courses for the PMP exam – I highly recommend taking one)

PMP is an international certification in project management over all fields. It basically covers the PMBOK. The certification is internationally valid and the PMI (Project Management Institute) will tell you who can assist in training and any other details that you might need. Have a look at their website.
