PMP Certification

I am busy software professional and can spend 1 hour daily for preparation. I would like to get the pmp certification. I see that there are online courses from UC Berkely, Stanford and other reputed schools for the same. I would like to know is it that I can prepare myself with some books and give this exam? If so what materials and sample tests I need to use? If going through a school is good for knowledge purpose, then which school is better for me. Course fee seems to be a big one if I need to do from reputed schools. Any information about the same will be of great help. I would like to know which books are the best to help me out. Typically with a sincere 1 hour daily preparation how long it might take to be confident in clearing this exam.

Sharkworld is an intense experience of the exciting daily activities of an international project manager. The game allows aspiring project managers to experiment with project management in a setting where game and the real world are flawlessly intertwined. The game is played via both the online and mobile channels. Projects develop in (accelerated) real-time (24/7) so players have to keep up with a fast pace and act and intervene immediately. Additionally Sharkworld is propelled by an underlying suspense story.
The story is set in Shanghai, where a high-tech large scale shark aquarium is being built on an Olympic location. A Dutch installation company got the job but their last project manager on site has mysteriously disappeared. The Sharkworld player has to take his place. To successfully finish the project he needs to cooperate with for example the Chinese customer, the Chinese authorities and the workers on site. The game interacts with players in many different ways: through websites (both fictional and real), cut scenes, e-mail, newspaper articles, chat, voice-mails and text messages (on the players own telephone).
Sharkworld covers not only economic aspects of project management like planning and budgeting, but also social aspects, such as conflict management, cultural sensitivity and diplomatic skills.
Sharkworld won the European innovation award 2008 “Most innovative Software”

Hey, I am a Graphic Designer, done M.A – Public Administration, INDIA. I would like to study more.

But I do not know much about what to study. I already have a PG… can i do another PG(MBA)? or Am I wasting time?

Is pmp certification valid for my carrier even if I shift my job to another… in years?

Am confused.. HELP NEEDED

PMP certification without actual project management experience is hollow – you will be able to talk about projects, and maybe even plan small projects.

The best advice I have heard regarding any certification, is that the certificate helps you to get your next job more than it helps improve your work in your current job. Your current work is your credential in your current job – your co-workers see what you can do and how you contribute. But when you are unknown (new job, new customer) the certificate can help people to believe you have the required skills.

PMP is a funny program, though – some of the principles and processes show a lot of wisdom (like the Initiation phase before starting to plan), but some appear to be afterthoughts, designed by a committee and hard to apply to the real world. In my work, I see little correlation between people who are good project managers, and people who have PMP certificates.
